Sprocket: The Robotic Dog

Learn Mechatronics

Sprocket is an open-source, artificially intelligent robotic quadruped made from 3D printed parts and inexpensive off-the-shelf components.

Sprocket will be powered by an upcoming artificial intelligence behavior engine. Similar to current “digital assistants”, the robot will be able to assist owners in any task it can physically perform. With the ability to write custom behaviors for the robot, the use cases are endless. “Fetch”, “Grab me a beer”, and “Clean up after Benji” will be implemented.

The mechanical, electrical, and control systems for Sprocket will all be made available open source.

Learn Robotics, AI, Computer Vision

Sprocket will be an educational platform for students, hobbyists, and engineers to learn how to implement software and hardware, electronics, robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, etc. into their projects. Courses will soon be released, using Sprocket as its platform, for these topics and more.

A Raspberry Pi computer powers the robot, with a custom shield to provide an interface to the motors, sensors, and power system. The code base is well documented and written in Python.

Future beginner courses will be made available using Arduino controllers.
